How to Activate The Gift of The Word of Wisdom
The Lord has many ways in which He manifests His presence, essence, character, and goodness. One of those ways is through the Spiritual Gifts as noted in 1 Corinthians 12. Today, I want to introduce you to the gift of the word of wisdom (v.8).
The Lord will use any gift to make Himself known, and He will use anyone He chooses. Some have believed that the “gifts” were just that, gifts that only some had access to. I bring you good news! The word gifts is not about us at all; it is actually a grace that the Father, through the power of the Holy Spirit, will manifest for a person, at a particular moment, to provide evidence that He is ever-present, real, active, aware, and fully God here on earth as He is in heaven. The word of wisdom is a character of God, as well. God is all-knowing, full of wisdom, and His grace manifests as such. Look at 1 Corinthians 12:7-8, KJV with me regarding this gift:
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every person to profit withal (together). For to one is given (brought forth) by the Spirit the word (spoken or thought) of wisdom.
There are a variety of ways in which this gift manifests. For example, it could be that a person is full of knowledge or ability to break something down beyond the common person’s ability.Oftentimes, you can see this come out of preachers who can really make the Bible come to life in ways you have not seen. This gift parts the waters in a logical sense. It opens up an understanding regarding many other things. It hosts an ability to provide or identify principles that will make something work, or points to what is not functioning in proper order. Through this gift, many have been able to make something that is not working well function with excellence. It pours out information that no one has thought about, even though the information given may seem simple. This gift is sharp, hence, wisdom. The gift can apply to natural and spiritual matters. It is effective in the secular world by providing powerful direction and the God-ordained paths and for Christian ministry. The book of Proverbs is a book filled with examples of the word of wisdom. Jesus is the Word of wisdom! Dream and vision interpretation is aided by this grace. Lastly, this grace reveals to us the supreme intelligence of the Lord Jesus Christ. This means this gift can manifest for the sake of marriage, money, children, and anything else that concerns our life!
I have been part of seeing this gift manifest when the Lord gave me very specific guidelines to share with a woman who was pushing her ministry forward. Her ministry was one that was greatly needed, and He gave me four or five points to share with her that would expand her territory and equip her to train others in her same path effectively.
Maybe you have been taught that not everyone will have every gift. The gifts are not to have, but to manifest at the will of the Holy Spirit. I have seen several gifts manifest at once while I was ministering. And, I expect it will continue because you and I have the fullness of the Holy Spirit.We don’t just get some of His being. While I lean strongly toward a couple of the gifts, the others have not failed to be poured out just because others already functioned through me. It is true that if you really desire one over the other, and pursue it, you will very likely see it at the forefront of your ministry. Seek after all of who God is and He will show Himself to you and others through you!This gift is as supernatural as all the others. Without the mind of Christ being revealed in you and I, we are only dealing with carnal things. Praise God, He works in heavenly realms!
